The Brera Apartments are located in a beautiful area in the heart of Milan: the most peaceful part of the historic Brera district. Since the 19^th century artists of the Academy of Fine Arts have made this area one of the most characteristic and soulful of Milan. Thanks in part to this legacy Brera is now a district famous for a refined style, art and culture.

Rich in historical buildings, monuments and important places for shopping in exclusive stores in pure Milan style: vintage curiosity shops, antique shops, cafes and restaurants. It is also famous for the antiques market that takes place every third Sunday of the month in the adjacent via Fiori Chiari.

Despite all this, the Brera apartments are particularly quiet facing, as they do, on one side the small via San Fermo della Battaglia and on the other a pretty courtyard.

The apartments are to be found on the second floor of an elegant historic building, decorated in typical Milanese style. The atmosphere is welcoming and personalized, stylish with “collection design” furnishing, and parquet floors.

Each apartment is around 50 metres square in area and is divided into a large living room/kitchen area, bedroom and bathroom.

The living area boasts a 32-inch high-definition TV and small DVD collection and a hi-fi stereo system compatible with iPod and complete with CDs to set the perfect mood. Free High speed wireless internet is also available.

In short, as apartments go, the Brera match Milan in style and taste and is a first rate option for those looking for a self catering option rather than a hotel.

Via Monte Napoleone and surrounding streets is where it’s all going on from a fashion point of view. Just a few blocks north of the Cathedral or Duomo it is certainly an experience, one that will leave you amazed and quite possibly a few Euros lighter.

Not everybody likes shopping, however, and don’t forget that Milan offers more than a few opportunities for eating and drinking in style. Now getting better known throughout the peninsula, the Aperativo alla Milanese, is a 7.30 – 9 pm tradition in the city.

Italians eat late so a little something to eat around 8 goes down very well indeed and is an exciting way to try lots of different traditional and modern foods. The aperitif happen in most bars – you buy a drink for slightly more than the normal prices but then have access to a whole array of nibbles so can work your way through most of north Italy’s cuisine without having to spend a fortune. Wash it all down with a Negroni, the ultimate Milanese pre-dinner drink.
