Casa Sabir

Our stay at Casa Sabir in Ortigia, Siracusa was truly lovely. The moment we stepped into the charming apartment, we felt completely relaxed and at home. The highlight was the location, we could walk everywhere to the restaurants, the shops and the historical sites. It was great having the market just below us, the food was really fresh and local.

Casa Sabir is a pretty little thing. Beautifully renovated, stylish yet simple. The kitchen is extremely well appointed - if you enjoy cooking, you won't be disappointed. And it's position among the market makes it perfect for any foodie to enjoy shopping for fresh vegetables and fish, then cooking a feast. Despite being amongst the bustle of beautiful Ortigia, the windows and shutters are extremely effective at shutting out any noise and light. The beds are extremely comfortable too, so be prepared to sleep in later than normal! Luca was a great host, very communicative, helpful in organising transfers and activities - we highly recommend a private boat for an afternoon - and also provided some excellent restaurant recommendations too. Good to know: The apartment is up 3 flights of steps, but they are short flights.

The place is realy beautiful and handy. The pictures do not ly. Very well equipped kitchen which we did not use because of the brillant restaurants we visit on recommandation of Pierpaolo who was our fantastic contact in Syracusa. The market right in front of the door is wonderful. The windows of the appartement are noise proofed so no wake up in the early morning hours. We had bad luck because there were very disturbing building works in the house. But we loved to stay in Casa Sabir and we want to come back soon!
