El Capricho de La Portuguesa – the capriciousness of the Portuguese girl – is an interesting name for a hotel and it sets the scene for the individuality of the place. Call it a small hotel with spa, a boutique hotel, a rural lodging... call it what you will, it is as the owner readily admits “a little crazy adventure driven by love, where you and your partner can enjoy a relaxing weekend, enjoy our spa with a Gin Tonic or a glass of Port wine, enjoy our aromatic candles, relaxing music, the sound of the running water”.

Vall de Gallinera where it is located is also an interesting place - a valley with a Arabic mystic close by to Denia, Moraira and Javea and halfway between Alicante and Valencia, as area famous for its cherries.

One of the great this if this valley is that is is pretty much unknown to the outside world, so to speak. A shame and a boon at the same time for the surrounding countryside is lovely indeed.

You can take a walk among the blooming almond trees in January,  enjoy the delicacy of the cherry blossoms in March-April and its fruits in May.

During summer you can enjoy the beach, which is close to our hotel, without the annoyances of beachfront accommodations. The chromatic richness of autumn colors will end up with your SD card full of pictures. In winter, and upon request, we can offer you some snow.

The area is also top notch in terms of gastronomy. And there’s plenty of it – the valley which is home to some 8 villages, boasts some 14 restaurants, some with Michelin Stars.

Valencian term "foscor" means "darkness". Farmers used to keep the wheat away from light in these rooms.

Located on the first floor, the room is about 22 m2 and has a special bath.

La Blanca

We wanted it to be white (hence the name), but we changed our minds at the last minute.
Located on the second floor (no elevator).This attic with a gable ceiling has a warm, cozy light.

Beniale

Delicate simplicity in a rural atmosphere with white, blue and sweet, refined touches.

Located on the first floor, 28 m2, full bathroom with bathtub and a 150 cm bed for cuddling lovers.

Imperio Kitsch

15 m²

Located on the first floor, it has an attractive Kitsch touch to it.
Also comes with small balcony that looks onto the hotel's main entrance.
The smallest of the rooms (15 m2) is colourful and bright.
