Tradition isn’t what it used to be, it’s just been updated a bit, that’s all. The Apartamentos Calleia de la Hoguera is an example of what you can do with the past and present.

In this case an exciting refurbishment has kept a traditional and beautiful Andalusian accommodation replete with all those essentials from the past, to wit: large entrance hall, court yard with columns, fountain gurgling away in the background, whitewashed walls, and roof terrace with a fantastic views of Cordoba mosque.

At the same time the furnishings of the 8 apartments are fresh, totally modern and up to date with vanguard facilities.

Now this is Cordoba, one of Spain’s great historic cities, and we’ve already provided an inkling above that the Apartamento Calleja de la Higuera are well located with great views of the mosque.

In fact, it is only a few steps away from this wonderful Mosque-Cathedral, and five minutes from the commercial city centre. The whole area is closed to motor vehicles so travelers have the place all to themselves without the fumes of exhaust pipes.

Of course, if you come by car, that may cause some problems, but the la Hoguera will be only too happy to arrange a parking space for you nearby, which should be no more than a five minute walk.

A quick description of all 8 apartments is as follows:

Apartment 3 Spacious and light apartment. It has the original coffered ceiling. What makes it unique are the windows with views of the marvellous and relaxing “andalusian” patio. It is located on the ground floor, 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4/6 people.

Apartment 4 Beautiful and airy terrace apartment with a great view of the bell tower of the Mosque-Cathedral. It overlooks the relaxing “andalusian” patio and has the original coffered ceiling. Situated on the 1st floor, it has one bedroom and sleeps 2/4 people. Ideal for a small family.

Apartment 5 Lovely apartment facing the morning sun, again with great views of the bell tower of the Mosque-Cathedral and also overlooks the andalusian patio. Located on the1st floor, sleeps 2.

Apartment 6 A very modern apartment with balconies. It overlooks the patio with columns and has the original coffered ceiling. Original decoration. Situated on the 1st floor, it has one bedroom and sleeps 2/4 people. Ideal for a small family.

Apartment 7 A very modern and light apartment. Spacious living room with a balcony with an old style grille with views of one of the oldest street of Cordoba and facing the front facade and a beautiful coffered ceiling. Situated on the 1st floor. 1 bedroom. Sleeps 2/4.

Apartment 8 Another bright and breezy apartment. Comes with a large bedroom situated in the old tower of the house. Double closet with large capacity. Paneled lounge. Located on the 2nd floor. Capacity for 2 / 4 people.

Apartment 9 Again, spacious with great views of the Mosque-Cathedral. It overlooks our relaxing “andalusian” patio and has the original coffered ceiling. The apartment has a large, cheerful living room. Situated on the 2nd floor, it has one big bedroom and can sleep up to 2/4 people.

Apartment 10 Modern and light. Situated on the 2nd floor, it has one bedroom and sleeps 2/4 people. Ideal for a small family.

As a side note, the paintings in all of the apartments are original pieces by a couple of artists called Mon Montoya and Eloisa Sanz. They fell in love with Cordoba and were commissioned to do most of the art in the differents apartments.
