Bereits die Anfahrt zu dem Hotel der Extraklasse, vom Zentrum Funchal nur ca. 10 Minuten, ist angesichts der üppigen Pflanzenwelt auf Madeira und den subtropischen Gärten der Quinta eine Augenweide. Fast märchenhaft erhebt sich das aus dem Jahre 1844 Jahre stammende Herrenhaus inmitten der Blütenpracht – ein wahrlich romantischer Ort. Hier atmet man den Geist der Geschichte auf Schritt und Tritt, auch wenn die meisten Gästezimmer in den erst später erbauten Annexen der Quinta da Bela Vista untergebracht sind. Wertvolle Originale, eine exquisite Auswahl an Antiquitäten, ein offener Kamin, Spiel- und Billiardzimmer sowie die alte Bibliothek verströmen den Charme längst vergangener Zeiten. Dabei genügt die Quinta da Bela Vista allen Ansprüchen an ein Luxushotel: Piano Bar, Jacuzzi, Sauna, beheizter Innenpool, Tennisplatz, und natürlich das sehr empfehlenswerte a-la-carte Restaurant „Casa Mãe“, um nur einige der Highlights zu nennen. Für Golfliebhaber hält die Quinta da Bela Vista reduzierte Green Fees auf den zwei nahegelegenden Golfplätzen bereit; während Romantiker sicherlich die Gelegenheit nutzen sollten, auf der eigenen Jacht (die gechartert werden kann), die Küste von Madeira zu erkunden. Stilvoller kann man seinen Urlaub auf Madeira nicht verbringen.
