Imani Country House

The word Imani actually means belief in Swahili and it was the “Imani” of  Pedro Vasconcelos and Mariana, so to speak, that turned this country house into something pretty special.  They wanted to make the most of the century old gardens and reconvert a house that was built to house farm workers into a sophisticated Alentejo getaway.

With the aid of an Autralian architect and top notch interior design from José and Mariana themselves,  the result was an impressive home from home that actually manages to capture the rustic charms of the Alentejo with a certain sophistication.

This interesting combination, for example, means two swimming pools, high class audio systems, contemporary design but also two donkeys and several sheep that wonder the fantastic gardens replete with centuries old trees and even statues. How about that for a mix of rustic charms and sophisticated class?

Évora, considered by many to be Portugal’s most beautiful city is also only ten minutes away, so although the Imani is built for pure tranquillity and relaxation it is not to be found at the end of the world. Lisbon itself is also only one hour away.

Accommodation:

The Imani House has five suites and two rooms with areas that range from 35 to 80m². All are equipped with air conditioning, gourmet mini-bar, wireless internet, radio, ipod deck, tv, dvd, telephone, and the suites also feature a fireplace.There is also a room and accessibility for people with reduced mobility.

Breakfast is served until noon.

Please note: During public holidays, Carnival  and long weekends prices are taxed at weekend value rates. During Christmas and New year, prices are subject to prior consultation.
