This is a luxury hotel with a capital “L” in a place of beauty with a capital “B”, and history with a capital “H” to match. What else would one expect from a fully renovated 12^th century Tuscan castle with views to die for of the surrounding groves and vineyards? It even has its own private lake for goodness sake!

In short, this is a great choice for a romantic weekend, honeymoon or spa experience or if you simply want to be pampered rotten.

Plus the the Castello del Nero is to be found right in the heart of Chianti, surrounded by the gentle sloping Florentine hills. Oh yes, it is also only twenty minutes from Florence and Siena, so perfection in terms of wanting to explore Tuscany.

In all there are 32 doubles and 18 Suites, so though not a small hotel as such the beauty and layout are such that overcrowding is not something you will feel. They are also all unique, some with vaulted ceilings, others with original frescoes, fireplaces… the list goes on to exude the charm and history of the noble estate the Castello del Nero once was. One common denominator is that they have all been painstakingly restored, refurbished with elegance and completed with state of the art technology.

We’ve already alluded to a spa and that is one of the Castello del Nero’s aces. Over 1000 square metres it offers personalised treatments, heat experience, vitality pool and relaxation area. There is also a gym is located in the oldest part of the castle and combines historical charm with the most modern and sophisticated equipment.

Then there’s the restaurant – La Torre – which serves up a pretty unique gastronomic experience and signature dishes based on typical Tuscan and Mediterranean flavours.

It’s pretty hard to beat the Castello del Nero in terms of the overall package it offers. Ok, it’s not cheap but if you want to splash out on something truly special the Castello del Nero is a no brainer.
