If you didn’t know that Gordes is considered to be one of France’s most beautiful villages you certainly will after spending a few days there. In fact, this whole area of the Luberon is superb in the beauty stakes (and not only – history, good food and nature all come as standard here).

Where to take a break from which to enjoy this all? May we suggest Les Terrasses, a charming and peaceful stone house surrounded by oaks and comfortably nestled on the edge of a small authentic village, some two kilometres from the centre of Gorges itself.

As for the rest, simply enjoy and do as you please:

Enjoy, your generous breakfast between the Les Terrasses’s two lovely gardens. Enjoy a game of petanque near the laurels and lavender. Enjoy the peace and quiet or a drink by the moonlight. All the raw materials are there for a special stay.

Especially so as the rooms themselves are utterly comfortable and decorated in the lively typical Provence matter. Indeed, perhaps all you wish to do is sleep in and recharge the batteries. That’s fine too, though we would mention the whole place and area is made for the outdoors.

You will also certainly enjoy the company of Frederic . Not only is he a convivial host Frederic is only too willing to advise on the best places to see (and there are many) restaurants to eat, large or small – all depending on your tastes sensibilities and budget.
